Company Profile

Pumice, a natural and inevitable formation of volcanic structures, forms when lava suddenly cools after a volcanic eruption. Known as sponge/heel stone and valued as a cosmetic product, pumice has been a cornerstone of the construction industry for approximately 2,000 years.

Pumice, formed by the sudden cooling of vapor after volcanic eruptions, is a highly porous material with excellent heat and sound insulation properties, resistant to all weather conditions, and lightweight, making it one of the most preferred building materials in the construction industry.

Easy to process and increasing in strength over time, pumice contributes to the durability and longevity of structures. It was first used in Turkey in the 1980s. Our company, Metaş Mining, began pumice mining operations in 1986 in Nevşehir, in the Cappadocia Region, home to some of the world's highest quality pumice reserves.

Initially focusing on mining and construction, it continued its production activities; Our company continues its production with different and brand new concepts as a result of its R&D studies.
